Christmas Blessings.

Just wanted to take a moment to wish your family a merry Christmas from our family.

We’ve been having a nice week with my brother in town from the East Coast. If ever there were two kindred spirits, it’s Yaya and her uncle:

Despite all the celebration and distractions, it has been difficult to know that we are missing our Baby Boy’s first Christmas. Even though he wasn’t here to celebrate with us, he was present in every moment. My husband gave me this beautiful Christmas gift, made by another adoptive mama. The dove on the top right corner represents Baby Boy’s baptism and the two stars on the left are for our two babies in heaven.

As my heart felt it would burst with aching for Baby Boy, the last gift I opened was this very special one from a dear friend:

We filled Baby Boy’s stocking and bought him a couple of presents that his sister enjoyed opening for him. It meant so much to us that he was also on the hearts of so many of our friends and relatives who also gave him gifts this Christmas:

Even though there was a longing in the air for us, there was happiness and peace in knowing that next Christmas will bring with it many special memories of our first Christmas together at last, when this little gal will be opening presents side by side with her brother:

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:7
Merry Christmas!
